Our purpose as a church is to glorify the God of the Bible in promoting His worship, declaring His gospel of salvation for sinners, building up the believers, planting and strengthening churches, and showing benevolence to the needy. We are committed to the proclamation of God's perfect Law and the glorious Gospel of His grace throughout the world, and to the defense of the "faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."
We embrace the great biblical doctrines articulated in the Protestant Reformation, sometimes referred to as The Doctrines of Grace and faithfully expressed in the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.
By following the Scripture alone as the final authority in faith and practice and by the grace of God, we seek to live faithful lives as disciples of Jesus Christ before a lost and dying world. We seek to do so in the following three ways:
Worship:
We strive to honor God through a God-centered and reverent worship. We believe that God desires all men to worship Him in "spirit and truth", and that He has told us how that is done in His Word. We desire our worship to be interesting and meaningful, but we make no effort to entertain. The following elements will be present in our worship:
Evangelism:
Edification:
The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority in faith and practice. There is only One God, eternally existing in three persons of equal power and glory: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Man was made in innocence as the highest creation of God. Man voluntarily sinned with the result being that all men are now sinners by nature and choice. All men are therefore unable to please God and are under His just condemnation to an eternal punishment in hell. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death for sinners, and His bodily resurrection. Salvation from sin and its consequences is by free and sovereign grace of God, through faith alone. It is completely undeserved and cannot be obtained by any human merit. All who repent of their sin and believe in Christ are forgiven, indwelt by the Holy Spirit at conversion, enabled to live a life pleasing to God, and are assured of eternal life. The blessed hope of every Christian is the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to judge the world on the last day. All men will experience bodily resurrection. The saved will go to everlasting life and the unsaved to everlasting punishment. The doctrinal basis of our church is the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. We believe that this is an excellent, though not inspired, expression of the teaching of the Holy Scriptures by which all confessions are to be measured.
